Coriolus PSP is
widely used with cancer patients.
PSP is extracted from
the mycelia stage of the Coriolus Versicolor mushroom
lifecycle and contains the highly-prized compound
polysaccharide peptide, which has alpha (1-4),
beta (1-3) and beta (1-6) glucoside linkages.
Traditional use
For centuries, Coriolus
Versicolor has been used as a medicinal mushroom
in China. The fan-like fungus which grows on dead
tree trunks in temperate parts of Asia and North
America was dried and used in medicinal tea for
liver and respiratory infections and to promote
immune system health.
Pharmacological and
clinical research
A number of chemically
distinct extracts are produced from Coriolus,
including PSP, a Polysaccharide-Peptide, and PSK,
a protein-bound polysaccharide.
